PRACTICE

MICHIGAN 500 PRESENTED BY TOYOTA

20.JUL
Report from the Michigan Practice Sessions

Arciero-Blair Racing driver Max Wilson did not compete in this weekend's Michigan 500 Presented By Toyota. The Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) FedEx Championship Series is continuing in round eleven of 21 events at Michigan International Speedway, in Brooklyn, Mich.

Due to rib injuries, Max Wilson, shown here with engineer Brian Ma, did not compete in this weekend's Michigan 500.

Wilson, driving the Ford-powered number 25 WinnerB2B Lola, spun, hitting the wall on the two-mile oval during Saturday morning practice.

Medical update from CART: "X-rays at Foote Hospital revealed that Wilson, who was involved in a single-car incident in the earlier practice session, sustained multiple bruised ribs on the left side, according to Dr. Steve Olvey, CART director of medical affairs. The initial medical report prior to the x-rays was the possibility of multiple broken ribs. He was treated and released. He will not race in Michigan 500."
