"It's great to be back in the Arciero-Blair Racing car again
this weekend," said the Brazilian rookie. "I came here a
few weeks ago and drove a Mid Ohio school car and that helped me
learn the track. I like the track a lot, it is very demanding on a
driver."
As usual Wilson showed the form that got him the job as the
driver of the Driving 101 Arciero Blair Racing Lola Ford. In each of
the practice sessions he improved his times around the challenging
road circuit.
His biggest improvement came in the final practice session on
race day-the warmup for the race. On a drying circuit-rain had left
it damp when the session started-he was second on the time sheets
when he took the checkered flag.
There were a number of other cars still on the circuit though,
and four of them were able to go slightly quicker than him as the
session ended. The final practice before the race ended with Max in
sixth spot.
