Report from the Texas Practice Sessions

Max Wilson and the Arciero-Blair Racing team made their first foray into the world of oval racing Friday when they ran two practice sessions in preparation for the Firestone 

Max and his Arciero-Blair Racing Phoenix/Lola ran 103 laps in his first practice session on an oval.

Max ran 103 laps on the high-banked 1.5 mile oval in the morning session with a best time of 24.065 seconds with an average speed of 221.700 mph. Tony Kanaan had the best time in that session at 22.845s. and an average speed of 233.539 mph.

In the afternoon session engine problems necessitated an engine change and Max was able to run only 21 laps with a best time of 24.207s. and 220.399 mph. Kenny Brack led that session at 22.821s. and 233.785 mph.

One more practice session was run on Saturday morning but once again engine problems intervened, limiting Max to only seven laps. He never fully got up to speed.
