1.SEP Report
from the Molson
Indy Qualifying Session
As rewarding as practice for the
Molson Indy Vancouver ended for Max Wilson and the Driving 101
Arciero-Blair Racing team, the single qualifying session for the
race was not as rewarding.
Qualifying sessions in the CART FedEx Championship are arguably
the most competitive in any series in racing. The difference between
the first two qualifiers this weekend was .052 seconds. A fractional
lack of quickness in each corner can translate into a less than
desirable starting position.
In his first appearance at the 14 turn, 1.781 temporary street
circuit, Max qualified 25th, approximately two seconds off the pole
winning time. He qualified in the first of the two groups, when the
circuit was not at its highest levels of grip.
