circuit in Fundidora Park in Monterrey, Mexico.

Attempting to pass fellow rookie Nicolas Manassian, Wilson lost control of his Winner B2B Arciero-Blair Racing Phoenix Lola and ended his day unhurt but against a concrete wall.

"I lost it (the car) in the last turn, when I was following Nicolas Minassian. I was trying to overtake him because I was much quicker than him, but I thought: 'on the last turn I will be quicker' and I was caught on the dirt part of the track. I just lost it. That was it," said the Brazilian Wilson. He had started 26th and was classified 28th at the end.

Unbeknownst to him at the time Wilson was the victim of a leaking radiator.
