MOLSON INDY VANCOUVER

2.SEP
Report from the Molson Indy Race

Once again the final results don't do justice to the performance turned in by Max Wilson and his Driving 101 Arciero-Blair Racing team.

Max Wilson ran as high as eighth before being sidelined. Here he leads eventual fourth place finisher Tony Kanaan.

Check out the weekend's Slide Show

Although Max had qualified 25th for the race, he had been third quickest in the morning warmup for this weekend's Molson Indy Vancouver.

When the race began Max drove intelligently and quickly. Avoiding the accidents that others were having around him and benefiting from smart team race strategy during the ensuing full-course yellow conditions, Max had moved into the eighth spot by the 25th lap of the scheduled 100 laps.

Less than a dozen laps later the all too unforgiving realities of racing put him on the sidelines.

An electrical failure in the ignition switch left him without power and stranded on the back side of the course, away from the pits where repairs could have been attempted.

He ended his day where he started, in 25th position.
