Brazilian driver Max Wilson drove for the first time on the
1.968-mile circuit of Long Beach. He gave a good performance during
the first morning session, being eighth fastest. In the afternoon,
when he was trying harder and was in 15th position, he had an
incident that sidelined him for the last minutes of the session,
dropping to the 17th spot with a best lap of 1'08.982 at 102.705
Mph.
"The morning session was good. The situation was different
than Mexico. We started with a much better car and we were able to
do some good lap times. During the last practice we changed some
things on the car. We made some improvements. The car was good, but
we still have room for further improvements for tomorrow (Saturday).
We will work on the car to make it better and we'll see if we can do
a good qualifying (performance)," Max Wilson said.
Regarding his incident in the afternoon, he added: "I was
just trying to push harder, but in turn 5 I lost the car."
