Arciero-Blair Racing Team and its driver Max Wilson ate a
"sombrero cake" in honor of journalist Jim Murphy, after
he said last year that he would eat his "sombrero" with
salsa on top, if the formation of Arciero-Blair Racing happened.
"He (Jim Murphy) didn't think that Arciero-Blair Racing
would be around this year and here we are. We accept his apology and
remind him to watch for us in a big way," said Barry Brooke,
former President of Brooke Racing in a very good mood and he added.
"P.S. The cake was very good."
On the other hand, Jim Murphy gave his comments about this
celebration: "When I first heard about Arciero-Blair Racing, I
was skeptical. But clearly, the team has greatly exceeded my
expectations and I'm glad to see them as part of the FedEx
Championship Series. Unfortunately, a conflicting issue prevented me
at the last minute from accepting my well-deserved public
spanking."
And he added: "I congratulate the team, Max (Wilson), Barry
Brooke, Larry Blair, Matthias Czabok and I wish all the Arciero-Blair
Racing Team the best in 2001!
