International Raceway will open their gates for free to fans during
the Indy Racing League Test In The West, while motorsports

The seventh annual Indy Racing League Test in the West will start
with a preseason Media Day on Feb. 5 at California Speedway in
Fontana, Calif. A full day of testing on California's 2-mile oval is
scheduled for Feb. 6. The afternoon session, 1-4:30 p.m. (PST), will
be open to the public. Fans should enter through the speedway's main
entrance and proceed to the infield, where viewing will be available
on the rooftops of the terrace suites overlooking pit lane.
After a travel day Feb. 7, two days of testing will take place
Feb. 8-9 at Phoenix. The 1-mile desert oval is a familiar site to
nearly every Indy Racing team, as it has played host to the Test in
the West and an Indy Racing event every year since 1996. Phoenix
will open Gate 5 to fans on the second day, Feb. 9, all day long. An
autograph session with the drivers is scheduled for the lunch break,
at approximately noon (MST).
For the second consecutive year, Indy Racing Online (www.indyracing.com)
will feature live timing and scoring during all green-flag sessions.
Indy Racing Online photographers and writers also will cover the
action at both tracks for daily reports and periodic updates during
the day.
Media coverage for the entire week will be extensive as more than
110 media credentials have been processed to date. The Indy Racing
League, in conjunction with IMS Productions, will produce three
satellite TV news packages during the Test in the West, enabling
affiliates across the country to air reports.
